Gossip Girl in Paris

Since tonight was the season premiere of my favorite show, and is set in my favorite city, I thought I would do a post on my favorite girl crush.

Lets be honest... she has the best boobs, like EVER. My favorite thing about her is that she always looks so comfortable in her own skin.  I guess I would, too, if I looked like that!

Who's your girl crush?

I want to live here... now!

This home, styled by Elizabeth Wixom and Kimberly Rasmussen of Elizabeth Kimberly Design, has clawed its way to being #1 on my "I want to live here... now!" list.

This makes me want to get off my ass and finish my house!

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

September 11

I never thought that I'd experience an event as an American so significant that I'd remember where I was, what I was doing, and how I felt at that exact moment. I was a sophomore at Texas A&M and was up early to head to the Rec for a work out before class.  I remember listening to the radio on the way over.  I got on the treadmill in between two other girls that I knew and as we were all running, we watched the second plane crash into the tower.  Everyone in the gym stopped, gathered together in front of the tv's, held hands, and began to pray.

A few days later, our Aggie Family did one of the most incredible things I've ever seen.  I had never been more proud to be an American and an Aggie as I was on that day.

Take a few minutes today to think about what freedom truly means to you and pray for those who make it possible for you to live your life as you please. Thank you to all the brave men and women, and their families, willing to sacrifice their lives for our liberty.

Polyvore for Greywalls

Since it's getting down to the nitty gritty over at Greywalls, I figured that I ought to start thinking about what I'm going to do with the damn thing when the construction is complete.  My "client" has requested a light and airy color scheme in the great room that is chic, but most importantly, comfortable.  We've painted the interior walls a taupey grey that was matched with Sherwin Williams from my Valspar paint in the master bath. She loves the combination of grey, cream, and wheat with a little bit of sparkle for some added drama.  And just because I tease her about being a cougar all the time, she gets a zebra print rug ;)  Here's my interpretation of her style.

Welcome to Polyvore!

So, if you haven't checked out Polyvore.com then you're a crack smoker, plain and simple.  It's a website where you can build you own storyboard for just about anything: fashion, design, party planning, wedding planning, etc.  You search and drag images that are already loaded, or you can upload from your favorite website.  If you want to see where all the items came from, just click on the pic above and it will take you to an inventory list complete with pricing (even when it's on sale!!!). I can get lost for hours on end there, so if you have blog OCD like I do, then you may want to stay away.  Or at least medicate yourself beforehand...

Tell me what you think!!!!  I'm dying to hear... I am also dying for Gossip Girl to start again, but that's beside the point.

Blogs and clogs

Gosh, I'm clever with that post title aren't I?

I got really lucky today... I've been lusting after these Via Spiga clogs that I found at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago:

And of course, they are nowhere in my size, in the entire country!  Plus, I refuse to pay full price for a trend that will be dunzo before I even put together an outfit and stomp around town in it.  Flash forward to today.  I decided to reward myself for putting in a full days work with a trip across the street to Ross, just on the off chance that I might find something cheap that I simply couldn't live without.  Turns out there were six things I couldn't live without, three pairs to be exact, two that relate to this post.

So, two pairs are little overkill for something that is "so ugly that they're cute" but they were $24.99 a pair, and I just couldn't resist.  And I had a $25 store credit from whoknowswhatm which made it perfectly logical.  I guess I can thank Mr. Lagerfeld for that...

And finally, my biggest inspirations come from my favorite style blogs:

I'll let you know how my latest trend slaving goes...

Olivia Palermo for Asos

Just as I was getting the shakes from not having my monthly Olivia dose, my favorite little MTV biatch pops up in the August issue of Asos Magazine.  Asos is the UK's largest online retailer and their inventory is fantastic.  Not only is it affordable, but us Yanks get free shipping and returns!  http://www.asos.com%20the/

The photography is incredible and Olivia is undeniably chic. I can't put into words how much I admire her style, but I'll spare you the attempt since I've done it in past posts.

Let's not forget how gorgeous her man candy is:

Good Lord help me!  You can thank me later.
