Workday: School Blazer

This adorable blazer has been hiding back in the back of my closet, tags attached, probably since 2009 when Balenciaga scored a major hit with contrast trim on the runway. For some reason, I have a hard time pairing navy with anything.  If it's casual, I feel like navy and denim is too much blue and if it's dressier I feel like red makes me look a little too patriotic.  I found some inspiration on Pinterest in this photo and was able to put an outfit together that I felt good about.  I have these J Brand cargos in every color that I have been able to get my hands on.  I've been able to find 5 different colors on super clearance at my favorite haunts, Last Call and Rack.  They just fit and for my body, when something just fits, I hoard it in every color and material.  Any ideas on what other colors to pair it with?  It's so perfectly fitted, I don't want it to be a one hit wonder!

What I Wore: Valentine's Day & Pose!

First of all, I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine's Day.  Whether you were with girlfriends, your significant other, or snuggled up with a good book, Valentine's Day is an opportunity to appreciate the love in your life.  

I gave my man two choices: black & sexy or white & cool.  He ended up choosing this black dress from H&M, which I styled with simple gold accessories.  I love, love, love, the leather detailing at the top and it was super comfy for the evening. It's not on the website, but you can find it in store for $49.95. We enjoyed a long, delicious dinner at our favorite spot downtown and loved every minute of it.  I'm a very lucky girl!

Finally, I've discovered this awesome website/app called Pose which is basically Instagram for your iPhone or Android outfit photos.  I'm not always able to take great photos with my Canon due to time constraints, but I always take one with my iPhone.  Check it out here!

Workday: Grey

It's been pretty drab the last few days and I feel like I haven't seen the sunshine for weeks.  I'm starting to get spring fever and can't wait until the warm weather rolls around so I can break out my brights and get a tan.  Worked from home today but had a couple of casual appointments.  

This outfit was a great mix of old and new.  I absolutely adore these jeans by Current Elliott.  They are super comfy and I've gotten back into the flare legs after a loooooooong exclusive relationship with skinnies and jeggings.  Current Elliott's denim not only fits me perfectly, but they always have the best texture and color combinations.  What are your go-to denim brands?

Weekend: Last Minute Panic

Saturday at 3pm, I was running around town trying to find a last minute dress for the gala we were to attend three hours later.  At the last possible second, I chose this gorgeous dress by BCBG. The bottom is sheer which you can't really see from this photo.  Instead of the sash it came with, I paired it with a gold and rhinestone studded belt for a dressier feel.  My bag is very similar to the McQueen Knuckle Clasp Clutch, but not having an extra $3500 lying around, I chose a much less expensive version.  To tell you the truth, BCBG is becoming a very dependable stand by for last minute situations where no altering or adjustments fit into the time frame.  Thankfully, Max Azria's tailoring fits me to a T.
