In The Navy

I feel like I'm kind of channeling Carrie Bradshaw in this photo for some reason.  The hair, the aviators, I dunno.  What I do know is that I'm sooooo glad that it's a holiday and I don't have to work today.  I've been slacking on the unpacking and I think it's time I finally knock it out so the projects can begin.  I hope everyone has a wonderful day filled with friends, family, and remembrance.

Thank you to all those who have served, who are serving, and their families who have sacrificed to protect our freedom and liberty.

Aren't you guys loving the accordion pleat skirt trend as much as I am?  I saw this dress on the sale rack at H&M and couldn't resist.  How gorgeous is the leather detailing on the back?  Crazy about it!  The best part is that I wore it to work with the jacket and then to an event afterward.  No wardrobe change needed!

In other news, tomorrow is the big 3-0 birthday! It makes me very proud to look back over the past year and see what I have accomplished both personally and professionally.  I am in such a great place now and am surrounded by people that love me, support me, and are as crazy as I am!  So blessed!

Dress: H&M, NLA but similar look here, just add a belt!
Jacket: H&M, NLA but get the look here for < $30!
Clutch: Target for $12.99 and also come in fuschia
Glasses: Rayban

I finally closed on my new (old) home yesterday and I am so thrilled that it's finally mine.  I've got some maaaaaaaajor work to do and I look forward to sharing it with everyone on the blog in the coming months.  I wore my very favorite dress from Zara S/S10 and all my usual accessories.  Had to look cute for the closing.  Hope everyone has a fabulous Friday!

Minnie Mouse

Remember when I obsessed about the J.Crew Big Shot Polka Dot dress here?  I've literally worn it about 17 times since I bought it two weeks ago, but I don't care.  I feel like a super fabulous Minnie Mouse.  I don't think I've ever had a dress fit me so perfectly off the rack.

After Mother's Day Tea at the Adolphus in Downtown Dallas (a wonderful experience, by the way, if you've never had a proper tea), we stopped by my soon-to-be new hood.  There's a gorgeous park with wildflowers and a creek and the perfect photo op!  I can't wait to move in and completely weird out a new group of neighbors with my tripod and crazy outfits.
